Reloop, together with the Waste Management and Resource Recovery Association of Australia (WMRR), invite you to join us online on Tuesday, 26 March for the final webinar of our three (3) part series on the latest developments in managing packaging in Europe, and what we can learn from them in the lead up to public consultation on packaging reforms in Australia.
In this webinar, our CEO, Clarissa Morawski, will provide an overview of how France intends to implement the EU packaging and waste directive and recovery targets within its existing packaging Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) scheme.
In France the packaging EPR system, overseen by operators like CITEO, stands as a cornerstone in waste management and environmental sustainability efforts. Within this framework, producers are held legally accountable for the entire life cycle of their products, including their disposal.
Central to the EPR system in France is the principle of ‘polluter pays’, which serves as an incentive for producers to prioritise recyclability and invest in sustainable packaging solutions.
The webinar will be co-hosted by WMRR CEO, Gayle Sloan and Director of Reloop Pacific, Robert Kelman.
