Beverage sales by container type in France
In 2000, the majority, by far, of beverages sold in France were packaged in non-refillable glass containers. While these containers continue to hold a large percentage of the French beverage market today, non-refillable PET has caught up. In fact, the number of beverages sold in non-refillable PET containers was about 9 billion in 2015, up from about 6.5 billion in 2000. There has also been a slow but steady rise in the number of beverages sold in metal cans.
