Beverage sales by container type in The Netherlands

In the Netherlands, refillable PET experienced a significant drop in sales in 2005 and has never regained its market share. While refillable glass still remains the market leader, other types of beverage packaging—namely metal cans and non-refillable PET bottles—are quickly replacing it. Non-refillable glass sales have remained relatively steady.
