Beverage sales by container type in Belgium

Historically, the most prevalent container in Belgium’s beverage market was refillable glass. This is beginning to change as more and more beverages are being sold in non-refillable PET and metal containers. Compared to the year 2000, about 1.5 billion more beverages are being sold in these containers. Non-refillable glass beverage sales continue to remain steady at around 500 million units annually.
