Beverage sales by container type in Germany

Germany has experienced a steady and continual decline in refillable glass packaging. An increasing number of these bottles are being replaced with lighter packaging materials, specifically non-refillable PET plastic. In fact, sales of beverages in non-refillable PET containers have increased by over 75%. Sales of beverages in other types of containers have remained fairly steady.
